Actually the spectrum product is not the best indicated...

its been bleached and processed to some degree. Will still give pretty good

resuts topically as a moisturizer and conditioner but real coconut oil is far

better.

Many folks claim to have a revbersal in grey hair. Also helps minimize itchy

scalp, and remedy some skin conditions.

Supposedly many people feel that taking it internally will help rid some

parasites, increase metabolism and energy level. As a cooking oil many believe

it surpasses olive oil and butter.

It is rather expensive though (sigh) as with most healthy unprocessed

products...runs about $50 a gallon.

Many also claim it does a terrific job in healing dermatology, erradicating

fungus and even perhaps alieviating acne. Somewhat akin to aloe or Vitamin E in

many ways. Also supposedly good as a sun conditioner that medium chain fat

chains absorb into cells and provide tanning rather than burning.

Your milage may vary... :-)

It seems to be similar to nutrients in breast milk as well.

There is a coconut website; search for cocnut info and it will pop up.

hope that helps.

Subject: coconut head

Hi group,

I have coconut oil on my head right now, and I was wondering if anyone else

has tried this? To be more precise, I have coconut oil in my *hair* - I was

at my HFS looking for a conditioner and saw the jar of spectrum coconut oil

among the choices. It's the same stuff that's in the vege oil section of the

store. So I thought I'd give it a try. The directions said to melt it, put

it on your hair and leave on for one hour.

Just wondering if someone else has tried this, and if so, how long you left

it on your hair, and what the results were...? I probably shoulda asked

before trying it, but I'm the jump in and ask questions later type :)

Hi Bob,

>>>Actually the spectrum product is not the best indicated...

***I know, but it looked as good as or better than the other choices on the

shelf. I'm not planning on eating it, but just using it topically, until I

get up the money to buy some less refined CO.

>>>>It is rather expensive though (sigh) as with most healthy unprocessed

***OUCH!!! And I thought goat's milk was expensive!

>>>>Many also claim it does a terrific job in healing dermatology,

***Jeez, it better reverse *cancer* at that price...

>>>>Somewhat akin to aloe or Vitamin E in many ways. Also supposedly good as

tanning rather than burning.

***Ah good! Something else I can use it for.

Thanks for the info :)

Well at least the supplier does include shipping in that $50 price in the USA...

well actually not cancer, but many believe it will clear up HIV...there is a

project to get large amount of it as a procedure for HIV to Africa because of

its relatively low cost and fantastic results. Its standard protocol in the

Philippeans and the word appears to be getting out quickly

for what its worth :-)

Hi Panama Bob -

What, exactly, are you referring to? What is a coconut head?

Thx.

Hey,

a coconut head is what a list member called themselves because they used

coconut oil on their head as a conditioner. Means nothing.

Best for you to look up coconut oil info website to get more about uses for

coconut oil. There you can delve into its many applications yourself :-)

enjoy
