Guest guest
> Hi everyone, while we were away for the weekend, DS managed to climb out of his travel cot - massive thud from upstairs followed by running across the floor! He is only 20 months. Some of the people we visit aren't very child safety conscious - lots of potentially hazards around, so don't really want to put him in a bed yet. Any ideas? No, I have a daughter who climbed out of her cot at 18 months and the travel cot not much later. The only solution we ever found was to make the room she was in as child safe as possible, set a portable stair gate across the door and set the baby alarm so someone could intervene before too much got fiddled with! Indeed we ended up putting cushions and chairs to help her climb out, since it was better than worrying what shed fall on. You may be better with a bed and a bedgard anyway, since I suspect the travel cots aren't very comfy as they get bigger and DD at least seemed to nap/sleep better on a bed or in my old cot at Grannies than she ever did in the travel cot which rustles every time she rolls over.
