RT3 blocking receptors even after RT3 down?

I'm in an awkward position as my Dr. only gives SRT3. I thought it wasn't

working until I got my last labs and my FT3 was a 4.0. I know this is still low

for someone on T3 only, but I was taking 2.5 grain dessicated and 120mcg of T3.

Based on what I am seeing on here, the 120mcg T3 should have me through the roof

by itself. Also, my RT3 was a lot lower and it used to be on the high side. It

was 157 (range 90-350).

My dr. wanted me to lower dessicated to 1.5 grain. So far I have went down to 2

grain. My temps are still low in the morning etc...

Question: There seems to be some on here who say even if RT3 has gone down you

still may have some blockage of receptors. How can that be? If it has gone down

doesn't that mean you are clearing? Why would you have to clear it all to feel

well? Shouldn't getting it in the normal range make you healthy?

I'm asking this because I thought about dropping the dessicated altogether and

increasing the T3. My dr says he is okay with that, but I am scared that I am on

so much T3 now even though I feel bad that when RT3 clears I'll have a heart

attack or something from too much T3.

I do have some cynomel here, but dr. doesn't okay it and I hate to self treat

and have something go wrong.
