I know it's not advised to take bp as often as we take temps. But mine is fluctuating so much I thought I'd take it every few hours to get a picture of what's going on. Can anyone help me to understand this? Here are the numbers:9:30 p.m. last night 152/72, pulse 662:00 a.m. today 174/80, pulse 725:30 a.m. 134/72, pulse 628:00 a.m. 145/55, pulse 7212:15 p.m. 122/51, pulse 65I'm taking the following meds:T3 every 3 hours--have been on this since January, now at 40 mcgHC every 4 hours, total 25 mg, last dose at bedtime--on HC since January at 10 mg, raised to 20 last week, to 25 yesterday K-Dur, 20 mEq--for the past weekI took 1/4 tab Florinef yesterday for the first time, none today

I had a problem with insomnia last night, for the first time in weeks--except one night last week when I awoke with 199/91 bp at 3:30 a.m. My diastolic pressure has lately been in the 50's, which is low--but my systolic pressure has tended to be in the 140's, not low. My doc suggested a trial of Florinef--it wasn't definite that I needed Florinef; it was just a trial. My aldosterone is normal, my renin is low, so my aldosterone/renin ratio is elevated. I've been having spells of weakness, and only that one time my bp went high (199/91) in the middle of the night. Hence the docs decision to try Florinef to see what happened.

Val suggested the weird bp might be adrenaline, and that I should increase HC. . So yesterday I picked up my Florinef prescription and took 1/4 tab, and also increased my HC to 25. Then I awoke at 2:00 a.m. last night with insomnia. The blood pressure readings above are from last night and today.

Can anyone advise? I've posted this info on the adrenals list, too.

Peggy
