High DHEA, low Cortisone, Normal Cortisol, low Testosterone - any link?

Hello

Just wondering if any of my problems are all linked to adrenal issues:

Low testosterone

Extremely elevated DHEA (sometimes 1% over the top, sometimes 4000% !)

Elevated IGF-1 (10% above reference range)

Low cortisone (5% below reference range)

Normal cortisol (mid-range)

Elevated cholesterol (bad is high, good is low)

Hashimoto's thyroiditis (had this for 5 years - taking Levoxyl for that)

So far my doctor has ruled out late-onset congenital adrenal hyperplasia. I'm

getting a CT scan of my adrenals next week, and I just took a 17-keto steroids

urine test (results next week). My FT3 and TSH are in normal range and I feel

that my thyroid is well managed. However, I'm always out of energy and feel run

down. Any little thing can startle me, and I get very anxious over nothing. I do

have a lot of stress (relatively speaking).

My doctor said I might have adrenal fatigue and he asked me to try 10mg

cortisone tabs. I'm reluctant to do so.. and I think I'll skip that for a couple

years while I try changing my diet. But I'm a bit concerned that DHEA is so high

some times, and I'm loosing a lot of weight.. I lost 30 lb without trying (after

I quit testosterone), have no energy, very anxious, etc. Can this all be related

to my adrenals or just low testosterone?

I'm supposed to try these tabs for a few days, but I don't want to become

dependant on those. And I feel that my doctor didn't do enough workup.. he just

sort of handed me this prescription and said " here, go try it " . Something tells

me to use the testosterone cream and not be concerned about the DHEA, cortisone,

etc.

Any last thoughts before I file this away? Thanks.
