Guest guest
If we take 180-200mg of iron a day to get ferritin up do we put ourselves at risk for the below? I found this online.OVERDOSEAcute overdose: Nausea, constipation or diarrhea (in excess of 30 mg).Chronic overdose: Hemosiderosis, hemochromatosis (a hereditary disorder of iron metabolism that causes bronze skin pigmentation, cirrhosis of the liver, diabetes, and heart disorders), production of free radicals, a rise in the need for vitamin E, heart disease and cancer. What to do: For an acute overdose, call your doctor, emergency medical services (EMS), or the nearest poison control center immediately. For symptoms of chronic overdose, contact your doctor.POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTSTalk to your doctor about any side effect that seems unusual or which is especially bothersome.
