Geez how I hate those shakes, jitters & being hyper. I'll take hypo any day over

that.

Re: Do i need more Armour or T4?

Hi Janie,Thanks for this. My problem is that although I'm only on 1

grain to

11/2 grain a day, my T3 was i guess at optimal level, it was

slightly over. I don't have the shakes or anything I feel if

anything still Hypo.

>Since the thyroid adjusts output down by whatever you take under

>what your healthy thyroid would make, your blood levels of T3

>should not go high on doses less than about 4-1/2 to 5 grains

Unless I am misreading what you wrote, Tish, the above is not

necessarily true. Many folks here are on less than 4 1/2 grains,

have high T3, and do not have sluggish adrenals. Perhaps the

confusion in the above is the lack of definition of what

constitutes " high " .

> How high (T3) can you go do you think?

I have observed that it's an individual thing. Mine, for example,

was once 4.5, and the top of the range was 4.2. I suspect it's even

higher since I have increased my Armour. And...even Dommisse states

that current free T3 ranges on most labs have become LOWER than a

few years ago.

And some folks here have higher free T3 that mine!!

I am always pushing the limit, but I go 1/4 grain at a time, and

hold it, since I am over 3 grains. I dose by symptoms now, NOT labs.

And yes, it does sound like you could have an adrenal issue. I am so

excited that you have Peatfield to help you.

Hi jayne

Well the highest I have been was 7.3 that was after I switched back from

Armour to T4, I went from just under 1 grain, to 50mcg of T4 and my T3 sored,

it

was really strange my T4 was low and TSH 40. Our range is over here (uk) is

6.0 for T3. So I got so scared because I thought it was so dangerous to have

such high T3.

I'm going to ask Peatfield about this when I see him. I think your right in

saying, it's best to judge your own symptoms!

Maybe the T3 is just hanging around in the blood not being utilised! Could

also be i have an accumulation of T4 from the synthetics and my system just

hasn't cleared it yet so it's like a knock on effect of T3.

Hi, Kate,

Can you post your normal ranges for the T4 and T3? Are these total or

free T4 and T3?

See if your doctor will test your ferritin.

in Va.

I have been taking Armour for a few weeks now, down to 1 grain

because of palps, used to take 100mcgs of T4. My results came back

T4 quite low 14.4 but T3 6.4 which i beleive is high. I feel quite

horrid!! My eyes are blurry and i feel all foggy. Any sugestions?

Going to see my doc next week, but in the mean time......???

That's me, skipping the morning dose of thyroid, had the last thyroid tests

around 8 to 9 in the morning, but I'm a nightworker and had my last dose at

about 3 in the morning or so. My TSH was completely suppressed, Free T4 was

1.2 (with the upper range being 1.8), and Free T3 being, I think, 4.5 (upper

range being 4.2, I think). The TSH dropped so fast from the last testing, 3

months before that, with those Free values coming up so fast in that time

period, that I can't help but think that the very high antibodies of both

common types, in the thousands, probably had much to do with that. Thinking

about those fast changing values, this has been my wonder, whether it was

the antibodies, or was it adrenal fatigue. Never had the adrenal testing

done, so I'm still thinking outloud about this.
