is 5 mg Liothyronine worse than none

My doc has started me on 55 mg Liothyronine which is indicated as to

low. I think I read a statement that beginning this drug initially

makes the T3 go lower before it brings it up.

Did I read that right? What would be the normal start? I'm collecting

information to take to my doc when I ask him to increase it.

Did he start you on 5 mcg or 55mcg? 5mcg is VERY low I would start wiht

12.5mcg twice a day if starting from scratch or from T4 meds.
