Help with the switch from Isocort to HC

I finally got my Doc. to give me a Rx for HC.

WHAT I AM TAKING NOW: I am taking Isocort 6-5-4-2-1, all approx 4 hrs apart

through the day, last one as I turn out the light. I find that I run out of

cortisol as my second dose (5) approaches. I often get hot flashes and sweating

15-20 minutes before my dose. And I usually don't get my first dose in the

morning until 7:15-7:30, so it actually has only been 3.5hrs., not even a full 4

hours when I experience these symptoms. Should I increase my dose of Isocort to

6?

REPLACING ISOCORT WITH HC: My doc. says to start HC at 10mcg/day. I told him

that I was already taking at least 20mcg/day (conservatively assuming there is

at least 1.5mcg of cortisol in each Isocort tab, but in my mind knowing that I

am probably taking more like 30mcg). He says to stay at 10mcg for a week and if

that doesn't work, move up to 20. I was thinking of starting with one dose of

10mcg. of HC in the morning and using Isocort the rest of the day. Then see how

that goes. Any advice and input is appreciated!

Thanks

KIm
