Guest guest
I am always amazed at the " immortal " 4wd SUV owners. Yesterday I went to the store and came back on the interstate. I had an SUV on my A$$ getting on and he couldn't wait to get around me. The roads were real greasy and I let him go. Not 3 minutes later I saw him waaay off the right side of the road and he was on his cell phone. Appears he flew by me and then got back into the right lane and overcompensating and slid right off into the ditch. There is justice in the world. he was probably calling a tow truck, GOOD LUCK during a snow storm. (hate to say it but it served him right!!!!!) We ended up with about 16 inches out of this storm We were only supposed to get 8. I am sitting here this morning with my coffee thinking of what to say to everyone. For those of us who have had WLS it has been exciting and interesting and will continue to be an ever learning and growing experience. to those who are pre surgery or in the research stage, it is frightening and exciting. I start this New Year with a different outlook. 1. I finally got under 200 lbs. First time since I was 11. 2. I am wearing normal sizes. 3. I am living simply and keeping my habits simple. (no one EVER told me it was easy but it is simple) 4. I have more resolve than ever to remain faithful to my exercise regime and am now adding in a 15-20 minute walk in the evenings. 5. I have found that these lists are the biggest support system that I could ever have. When I choose to isolate I get in trouble. You see, isolation is what got me to 463 lbs. Dieting is what got me to 463 lbs. When I isolate I eat. Plain and simple. I isolated because NO ONE understood my pain, my self loathing. I was a secret eater. I rarely ate in front of people. I would buy my food and go home and cram it all in. I did this pre op and several years post op. The feelings and emotions were no different. So, my only real resolve this year is to not isolate. To keep on sharing on these lists, to go to the local monthly group meetings and to reach out so I can help myself. If I help you along the way, that;s an added bonus. I don't wanna complicate my life anymore than it already is. Okay, the caffeine has taken it's toll. I will shut up now.
