Hello Everyone!!

WEll, it is my turn to come out of lurking mode. I am finally one

year out! Seems hard to believe that I am out a year already!! Time

sure has moved fast.

On november third I took the plunge and changed my life forever! I

had my SRVG done at Trinity North, Davenport Iowa. (After a four

month long battle with Cigna) I began this journey at 340# with a

BMI of 63. I couldn't sleep, walk across my living nor live what

would be called a normal life. I was crippled with severe disc and

joint problems. I had lost my nursing career to obesity. It seemed

to winning the battle.

BUT, after a long recovery, things began to change. :) By Christmas

I was down 50# and life was looking up! Then, after years of abuse

my back gave out and I had to have a laminectomy with partial disc

removal in February of this year. I ended up in bed for almost two

months thinking that it was all over. I finally did recover and

regained the use of my left leg (they said would NEVER walk properly

again). After a long period of therapy and the help of a mother that

wouldn't give up I am now walking 5 miles a day, plus riding my bike

for up to 2 hours at a time. Then in May, ended up having my Gall

bladder removed Lap, May 31st. Ended up in the hospital x 3 with

post op complications in June. Having three more surgeries in three

weeks.

Now things are wonderful, I am getting stronger everyday. I am

finally beginning to learn how to live life healthy, strong and

alert! I have enjoyed this list in the past and look forward to

learning more from all of you in the future!!

I had my one year post op check up yesterday and so far I have lost

160 pounds and 155.5 inches from my body. I was wearing a 44DD

(sorry guys) now a 34D, size 5-6X shirt now a med/Lg, pants from a 34-

36 (when I could get em) to a sz 16.

Oh yea, I am from Illinois, married 16 years, no children and do have

two floppy eared puppies and one bird. I do like cats but they make

me wheeze. Please forgive the length of this post! Didn't realize I

had so much to say! Hugs to everyone!!
