I have a very large 'chunk' of beef Suet in my freezer; can I just thaw it

and eat it? Can I make fat for frying? How long will it keep in the

refrigerator, because it is very large?

This is the first time I've gotten the suet. I don't know how long it will

last in the refrigerator. But it is a big hit around here. A friend's old

dog really loved it (I figured that it would help her arthritis and joint

pain as it does mine). I carve off a small portion (about .5 oz. and chew

on it while eating other foods - melts in the mouth and it is almost sweet

in flavor. I'm sure it would be fine for frying and I think it will keep a

long time in the refrigerator. I'll report on it later on.

I am reading with interest about lard. I have a lot of suet from grass-fed

cows that's sitting in my freezer. I want to use it for pemmican, once i get

my beef, but what else can i use it for?
