Guest guest
I went to see my PCP today. He changed my blood pressure medication and is concerned about my blood sugars being out of control. I also gained 6 lbs in a month. YUCK!!!! Anyways, he wanted to know if I had heard anything from Dr. about my LOMN. I told him not yet and that I am concerned about the insurance denying. He told me that my insurance company is alot better at coverage than most, but he has never dealt with WLS approval. I have left messages for Cody and on voice mail and have emailed. It has been over 3 weeks since I gave them my medical information for my LOMN. It is hard not to be disappointed that I haven't heard if they sent it in yet. So, I decided to call my insurance company and just ask. First, I found out that Dr. is on my network and his services will be covered. Then she said they do cover surgery for morbid obesity. And that I am following the right process. That Dr. needs to mail in the LOMN, then the medical review board will decide if I meet the criteria for moribidly obese. I think I will with a BMI of 65, 5'2 " and 350lbs!!! I told her that and she said it sounded promising. I asked how long does it take to get approval once the review board gets the LOMN and she said they work through it quickly. OK, so now, how do I find out if Dr. has completed my LOMN? I am getting kind of frustrated, but being a nurse, I also know how busy his office probably is especially with the holidays and snow problems. My PCP wants me to have surgery in the next month!!! Or he feels he will have to actively make changes to my diabetes care. Any suggestions about Dr. 's office? At least I have hope now. I am trying to be patient. Thanks and hugs to ya all, Lori
Guest guest
Suggestion FWIW: Fax a letter to the doctor and ask if the LOMN has been sent.. and if not, ask if there is anything you can do to facilitate the process. ----- Original Message ----- Anyways, he wanted to know if I > had heard anything from Dr. about my LOMN.
