Guest guest
I personally so many of us have a milder version of this, hands down. The full blown version is so bad that I can find no humor in it. Most of us, I can, including myself. Hashimoto's Encephalopathy I spotted this over at Shomon's this morning.. thought I'd pass it on.... ********** Neurological Symptoms and Thyroid Antibodies? You Could Have Hashimoto's Encephalopathy It's almost impossible to say -- but unfortunately, it's almost impossible to recognize as well. In fact, a recent journal report found that every single patient in one study was initially misdiagnosed, and told they had everything from dementia to CJD (the human "Mad Cow" like disease). But the reality? Hashimoto's Encephalopathy, also known as "Steroid-Responsive Encephalopathy Associated with Autoimmune Thyroiditis (SREAT). Also frequently mistaken for stroke, or mental illness, it's an extremely difficult condition for doctors to recognize, but once suspected, it's treatable. If you have thyroid antibodies, and any unexplained neurological symptoms, you will definitely want to read more about Hashimoto's Encephalopathy.
