Hi Sue

It sounds like you have urge incontinence, not stress incontinence. Stress

incontinence is when you leak when you laugh or cough. That's not what you're

describing. You should be checked to see if your bladder is " overfilling " . If

it isn't, and you have no trouble peeing normally (no difficulty starting,

stopping, etc.), then it is most likely urge incontinence. It can be treated

very successfully with biofeedback. Surgery usually lasts 6 months to a year.

Pills usually don't help much at all. So, do some research on urge incontinence

and talk to your doc about it.
