Guest guest
Is it really raw? I saw they had some cheese, but I couldn't find any that was from raw milk. If so, can you tell me what the package looks like, so I can compare the price with what we are getting now? rochester@... ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Click here for the best diet and nutrition information you will ever find! www.westonaprice.org ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* " I dropped the idea that I was an expert, whose job it was to fill the little heads with my expertise, and began to explore how I could remove those obstacles that prevented the inherent genius of children from gathering itself. It sure is cheaper than Alta Dena (the other brand of raw Wild Oats carries), and I like the taste better too. ~ Carma ~ To be perpetually talking sense runs out the mind, as perpetually ploughing and taking crops runs out the land. It's the Wild Oats brand with little cows jumping over the moon (Cheddar), and it says it is made from " cultured milk, salt, microbial enzymes. " Other cheeses in the same line, with similar packaging, specify " pasteurized, " but the Colby and Cheddar just say " cultured. Guest guest
I simply MUST refer you all to my favorite dairy here in my state that makes and retails their very own raw cow's milk cheese. And it's organic! It is: Morningland Dairy, PH: (417) 469-3817. No website that I know of. These people are great, really wonderful to deal with and very conscientious in their work. Have a very clean cheese house and operation. They have several kinds of cheese which can be shipped year round. Their raw milk organic cheddar only runs around $4.00 per pound including shipping. I have ordered from Morningland Dairy for about 3 years now and have another friend in another state who now does also who raves about this cheese. You can ask for one of their order blanks when you call. Tell them the Brownings sent you... Guest guest
Carma, You should call or email the company to find out if they heat their raw milk up to a pretty high temp. I bought some " raw milk cheddar " from a place in VT, but I asked and they said they heat the raw milk up to 165! Not really raw then in my opinion. Maybe the cheesemakers on this list can comment: do some cheeses have to be heated up above cow body temp in order to become cheese?
