Hi Dawn -

I'm sorry I missed the showing of it - How did you know when it would be on

to be able to tape it ?

It was my first time at a LPA event at the Bar-BQ - I think I met everyone

and I believe I met you too ! My name is Tony Hromada and I hope to meet you

again some time.

It could happen at the regional in the Dells if you are planning to go.

If you are - How are you planning to get there? I'm hoping to drive there

and I'm looking for some others that might be interested in Car-pooling. How

about you?

I live in Chicago Heights and my phone # is 708/ 755-7467 - Please give me a

call if you're interested !

Tony :)

Hello--

I have never understood the use of a reference electrode. If hooking up to

an ear gives you zero at that point, then why not hook up to the nose or

abdomen? Better yet, why not just leave the electrode on the desk, which

would also produce zero voltage?

Thanks,

Gene

While I don't know about all the 5 protocol sites you've used, when you

train AFz and CFz in a bipolar hookup, you are not looking at the same thing

you see in the assessment. In the assessment, you are comparing, for

example, F3 and A1, so you have an active EEG site from which you are

subtracting the activity at a relatively inert site. When you train AFz and

CFz, you are subtracting one active site from another, so the resulting

signal will almost always be significantly smaller.

Try doing monopolar placements, with your reference electrode on an earlobe

or mastoid bone. You should see signals much more consistent with those you

saw in the assessment.

You are actually measuring the activity between the two sites, particularly those neurons which are parallel or nearly parallel and ideally fairly close to the line between the two electrodes, as well as the overall signal in the head, which is a volume conductor.

Try your other sites and let us know what happens.

[sPAM?] eczema, skin rashe

I have a client with a very stubborn skin rash. She has had it for years,

her sister has it, and

her daughter on/off. Her face has broken up badly lately, after she did a

cleanse (6 months

ago), and the symptoms are not going away. She eats well, exercises, does

not wear make-

up any longer, but it's distressing since she works in public relations.

Any suggestion welcome. Thanks.
