Guest guest
CU Folks Ordinarily sane folks can do weird things in the name of 'RIGHT' and protecting kids. They will even hurt those they claim to want to help. Also, sometimes sane caring professionals misjudge the situation and harm those they want to help. When facing a professional that has misjudge a situation, enroll their support or the support of other equally renown professionals. In such situations, 'fighting' sometimes is the worse thing that can be done as a child's advocate. It will only fuel their claim. Remember, 'a gentle word turns away wrath.' Sometimes asking the advice of those that want to be an adversary is the way to 'beat' the adversary. Also, do not underestimate the power of self-righteousness -- by professionals and others. It is almost as powerful as a guilt trip. Both are the same sickness turned either inwardly or outwardly. When we add a little 'group thought' to the whole process, normally sane folks loose the ability to think straight. Then they act as a mob and not as individual persons. Just look at congress. <@v@> I know that I'm here to support those that ask for help and not to second guess the love or sanity of a parent. I am not skilled in the area of psychiatric diagnosis ... via the web or otherwise. I would hope we will withhold any 'rash' judgments regarding "Munchausen's by proxy" ... pardon the pun. Be VERY careful with this situation. Phil comments .... May I say something to you ..... The thread on "Munchausen's by proxy" is enough to throw any mother into a panic. My knowledge of this a limited, but I do feel that there is an element of --doing to damage or medicating on purpose with the intent being injury or bad health consequences. I think the person who made the comment has no knowledge of "Munchausen's by proxy" or they wouldn't have said it. I don't know if my statements to you are completely accurate either, but I am having major feelings about this thread. Barbara
