Guest guest
There clinical patient of hypnosis will fall under one of 3 personality types or somewhere on a scale inbetween. There is physical suggestibility-this person will be outgoing, loves to talk, will unabashedly invade your personal space. They just usually bumble along in life with everything black or white and simplistic in nature. These types are very good candidates for success when even a short term therapy. Emotionally suggestible- Usually very analytical, like to be structured and planned. Does not like variations. Probably rehashes pervious conversations or episodes several times think what they could or should have said or done, usually very conscious about their impact on others...I could go on..(I am one) We need to be hypnotized differently. Yes, we can benefit, but we have to be comfortable with the therapist. We have trouble visualizing so the verbage used is different and as we tend to be challenged by directness, suggestions are mostly spoken with inference leading us to make our own choices about what we will make of what is being said to us. Sonambulist-These people will drop like a rock. These are the one the "Stage Hypnotist" can pick(spot) out of the audience and make great subjects for his games. They can go either way as they fall in the middle of the scale. They are very much like chameleons in they adapt to whom they are around. They are like little puppie dogs following anyone this way and then that way. So, yes you can be helped. I have been. The problem is there is not a standard across the board to become a certified hypnotherapist so you have alot of people who do not know what they are doing and can actually create false memories in people like sonombulist because they have such ability to imagine and visualize. Re: PROZAC Hi Amber, everyone reacts differently to each med and for some reason when I added the prozac back in my TSH went from 2.1 to 7.37... I will know better when I get my labs after 6 weeks of no prozac and see if it goes back down..it was doing so well prior to the prozac. If if works for you then don’t change it — I don’t want to recommend that you stop something that works well for you... I’ve just had people absolute GO BONKERS on me on another board when they knew I was on a weight loss diet that included soy — my endo and my experience showed it was safe for me so it just goes to prove we are all to march to the beat of our own drummers! We don’t watch any TV in our house — not cuz we are smart or better or anything like that — we just don’t like it— I’ve actually heard it can lead to depression and desensitization but then again, to each his own... Ya know? I prefer to read, do puzzles, and stuff like just talk to my hubby and kids and can’t stand the tv being on EXCEPt right before I go to sleep and then it puts me out like a light!
