Guest guest
Hi friends, Just a reminder that the " reminder " about my surgery was incorrect. As most of you know I was switched Nov.30. I don't know where that Dec.22, date came from. I have been off line for about 4 days because of illness. I just could not stop barfing and having diarrhea. Some of you remember that my PCP had refused to see me and that Mon. I had an appt. to " get things settled " one way or another. Well, I still didn't see the PCP, I saw the Nurse Practitioner. I like her better anyway. She was " sorry " that I had been treated so badly by " front office staff " and proceeded to give me a thorough exam like nothing had ever been wrong. I asked her if she had any idea what kind of mental anguish I had been through over being refused to be seen by my PCP the week before. She apologized and more or less brushed it off. Anyway it turns out that my surgery wasn't the only reason I was barfing, dizzy, and feeling faint. I have had a double inner ear infection all this time contributing to my illness. So she put me on Phenergan Suspension and Antivert. It took 3 days but No MOre Barfing!! Hooray, I just finished a bowl of Spaghettios and feel fine. On Tues. I saw the surgeon about my hemorroids, they are bad but he doesn't think I will require surgery if I can get the pain under control. He ordered a suppository that was absolute magic after the first one. It is blissful to be pain free and nausea free!!! Just think how good I could have been doing by now if I had had access to a doctor sooner. I am still dehydrated but am working on it. Had my first soft formed stool today. Felt like that was a milestone. I am in total agreement with anyone that decides to have their surgery in the US for the sake of follow-up care being more accessable. I know how much prejudice you may have to face if you go to Spain and follow-up can mean life or death if you have problems. I love Dr. Baltasar and I don't regret what I did but if there had been any other choice..... I am still praying for Joe and Joy and Dorothy. Hang in there. The situation is getting better. The answer is on the wings of prayer.

Guest guest
Dear Gail, I am wishing you well with everything, and am really disgusted by what you have experienced with your PCP. Thank goodness the Nurse Practitioner took the time to give you a full exam and find your infection, and give you treatment for your nausea! I was switched by Dr. Baltasar on December 11 and today plan to call my PCP for some pain medication. My cut muscles and incision still sting and hurt enough to disrupt my life. I hope that she remains true to her promise to care for me and support me longterm postoperatively. Warm regards, t surg 12/11/00 Dr. Baltasar, Spain ******************.
