Guest guest
Hi, When the wife began HRT in 1991 I investigated all sorts of hormone studies on animals as well as human and found all sorts of conflicting studies. They didn't know how to set up decent studies when there is such a small incidence of breast cancer in women for instance to begin with, they make a sudy with limited quantities and huge variables on other things like life style, weight problems, other health problems, smoking, drinking, family history, stress levels, medications, etc. There is no way to get good results unless the changes are large when hormones are added. Then there is also bias like a religious outlook that prevents some studies to be accurate because they know the results before they start. My GP said he never tested a person for low T and probably never would, no matter what. Is that a bias? I'm a retired EE and we think facts are supposed to make the studies accurate but, NO. ernestnolan > > I've just thought, my docs have been telling me for years that I have Psychological Prolems, despite clear symptoms, three private diagnoses etc > blood levels of Testosterone 10nmol/L, panic attacks, fatigue, its obvious......The symptoms of this condition are well known....from guys with Testicular Cancer, Prostate cancer who undergoe Androgen Ablation therapy, or guys who have Pituitary Prolactinomas.....so the signs of Androgen Deficiency are well known, no matter what the Professors out there milking the situation say....... > > Certainly if Doctors are required to be able to spot, Meningitis, a relatively rare condition then they ought to be able to spot signs and symptoms of a much more common situation in amost every day experience....., but they havent made enough out of the situation yet > > Think about it, take away law and Order and what happens, in Lawless societies, people, (usually men), will invariably try to exhert 'their' authority...ABSOLUTE control over others (usually other men, actually no women as well in the form of Rape ) ..............................................Despite tens of thousands of research articles on Testosterone, , I understabd there are 20,000 articles on testosterone, the stuff is out there being sold by Pharmaceutical Companies, Some of it touted by the Professors who then argue caution, we need more money to do research....... > > very few studies show harmfull effects......Ive just realised why we are not being given treatment... > > Firstly, the researchers have not milked the situation for all it's worth yet, research grants, publicity......reasearch articles in ever more prestigous journals and at all expenses paid conferences abroad etc etc......I know one Professor whose written 500 reasearch projects and articles....I used to be an electronics engineer, I like to think I worked efficently, each Project would take me at LEAST three months and usually Six months to a year to complete.......500 Research articles is 1 article every two weeks for 20 years...............exactly how much intensive research can this guy actually have done....on each of those Projects....... > read some of these research articles, they say the same think over and over and over and over again............ > > > Secondly, It's an Ego based Power Trip for them..........Authority and control over others > > We can't be given treatment yet because there is still more money and Prestige to be milked from the situation before it can be made official treatment. > > > Interesting theory ? > > Tell me I'm wrong........ > >
Guest guest
I hope ya'll don't mind if I jump in here... , no your not wrong at all. Medicine all about the money not healing people. Ask a Dr why s/he wanted to be a Dr...I would guess that a very large amount of them would reply " money " . As for the pharms, well again it's about the money. Why hasn't there been a new drug that treat Malaria in such a long time??? Because there isn't money in it. Forget about the fact that many people around the world contract MAlaria, they don't have money. Right??? So why bother develope a better drug. " norsworthy_david Now there's one thing I am noticing working with doctors. For some reason, they seem to be limited in the information they can give you. Is this by design, a lack of experience, or the mere fact that they don't always have all of the answers. Maybe they simply just don't know sometimes " IMO your also right. Like said it is a power trip and they are not about to let you know that they don't know. I find that many Dr's don't keep up with changes in medicine. They beleive if they read it in a book in medical school that it is absolute and it won't change, ever. Now, if people in other professions decided that what they learned in school was absolute and everything must fit here or there than they would be considered negligent. IF a lawyer didn't keep up with the changes in law and depend on information that was outdated to use in his trial he would be considered negligent. IF a teacher didn't keep up with the latest educational tools, theories, new info in their field of expertise, NCLB, and testing proceedures they would be considered negligent. THen why isn't a Dr that deosn't keep up with changes in thier filed of expertise isn't considered negligent??? Dr's are limited ebcause they choose to be. I mostly direst this at speicalists (endo's and the like). They have a specialty, it is part of their job to keep up with new research and guidelines. PRimary Care Dr's or Family Dr's are not supposed to know everything, but they are supposed to know when they are in over thier head and send you to the right specialist. I wonder if Dr's know how to use the internet..... " Homebrewer MSP I'm convinced most doctors are: 1) arrogant 2) ignorant 3) deaf .....Few doctors listen to their patients. Most doctors have conclusions in their heads about their patients before they walk into the exam room. " SO VERY TRUE! To many Dr's blood test are absolute and if your blood tests are in the " normal " range they can interpet it any way that they want to. IF you don't have symptoms, there is something wrong with you. If you do have symptoms your in need of an antidpressant and a shrink. They make choices not on a sound well rounded approach, but they make decisions based on their own biases and what is " politically correct " to diagnose. Do you ever wonder why their is such a huge increase in cetian diseases? Like PCOS, IR or IBS. In some cases it is about making you sick when you are not, but when you are it is ignored and your considered a hypocondriac that is need of therapy. Many believe that when your in the norm your OK then others will say that your not, others believe if your are out of the normal your OK and then their are Dr's that say your not. Don't forget the Dr'sthat are wishy washy and change their diagnosis everytime you walk into the room. Then others will keep testing you until they find out what THEY want you to have, so that they can give you the latest politically correct drug for the latest PC disease. " ernestnolan Then there is also bias like a religious outlook that prevents some studies to be accurate because they know the results before they start " . Another good point. Many things are based on bias, it also goes down the gender path. (Don't flame me for this, it is another perspective). Men have meds like viagra and are paid by insurance, but yet many women can't get oral contraceptives or Clomid paid by their insurance company. What about paying for IBCLC's to help women breastfeed?? MAny insurances won't pay for that, and what about domperidone to increase lactation..again insurance doesn't pay for it and you have to get it from out of the country! Many studies on drugs are centered on men (unless a speicifc gender being targeted) and women are different than men. It is just now many women's issues (heart disease and the like) are getting any attention. Is that fair??? NO! Is it fair for anyone to go without treatment? NO! It all boils down to one thing...MONEY. IF it is profitable they will milk it until they can't milk it any more. IF enough attention is given to an ailment by the media then their will be outrage and then something will be done (granted itiwll tkae forever and hte ones that milk it will), but your medical problem has to fit into certain parameters and if it doesn't you are SOL. Just my opinion.....
