Have you tried Gas X? It didn't help me but anything is worth a try.

Well if we weren't able to get rid of the smelly air we keep inside, I think

we would blow up then you talk about a mess. Thank God there is less of me to

clean up now. HAHA you know I'm joking.

I haven't really tried anything yet, I guess I'll have to go through the gas

relief aisle at the drug store soon. Fun!

Hey Terry,

The Gas-X only helps get RID of the gas - it doesn't make it not stink! Just

thought you might want to know that! LOL

Only to " let it out " so to speak. At least it relieves the pain. But NOT

the smell :-)

but anything is worth a try.

You could carry a small air freshener with you, or a book of matches. LOL! And

when you go to a restaurant, just do what Steve once said, when they ask

you for smoking or non-smoking, ask them if they have a farting section. LOL!!

Matches? Um, lighting one after my farts could be a fire hazard!! lol.

The matches didn't even help though, tried it. I lit 5 of them and it

didn't help. My bathroom just smelled like burnt farts. I've tried air

fresheners, candles, everything. Maybe a cork is next?

Well, I got " that time of the month " taken care of with the revision/TT

because I also had a hysterectomy. Lucky for my DH I guess. :) I just

visited my parents though and my Dad decided that they needed to remodel the

upstairs bathroom before I visit again because there's no vent in it so the

" fumes " have nowhere to go but through the house.

group of people so know one thinks its really you and everyone is

looking at everyone LOL its awful to say but when it happens it beyond

my control, I try I honestly do try and contain it and excuse myself to

the ladies room but sometimes POOOOOOF. Lately its been awful, take a

step poof, take another step and poof... I'm fluffen so much I could

Yep, I know exactly what you mean by that!! Luckily, after so many years out

now, I'm pretty " regular " - have my coffee in the am and am " runnning " to BR

and then I'm good til the next morning. However, I do know that if I ate too

many carbs that day, or hidden sugar, hidden milk, fruit (i.e. strawberries,

pineapple, etc), and even I had a soy latte at STarbucks and I THINK their

soy is higher sugar than mine, the gas is there. Some foods cause it more

than others. For instance carbonation = smelly farts!!!!! There is just

SOMETIMES I HAVE to have a diet coke.... and I pay LOL. Remember when I told

you months back that I cleared a Wal-Mart isle? NOW ya believe me? LMAO!!!

You know, I never have this problem. It was more of a problem pre-op

when I was making bad food choices, it seemed. Is this something

that happens later on that I can " look forward " (!) to?

Yes, I understand about clearing an aisle. The problem is that they follow

me, so I'd have to run around a few aisles to get rid of all the " evidence " .

So, what you're saying is that the frequent " runs " won't last forever? I

know that my body is getting used to the new plumbing again, and is probably

pretty annoyed at me for doing this to it a second time :) Actually,

told me that her diarrhea didn't last past the first year either.

That's actually pretty comforting to know that there's a chance it will get

better eventually. That thought will keep me same.

Sandy - I have less gas now than before I had surgery. The more distal you are,

the worse it is. So that's why it is especially bad for Terri and .
