Guest guest
, The twenty hour flight alone would probably kill her (plus the price). The doctors there are as capable and have the same fears as doctors here - malpractice and wrongful death suits. If Bush bans stem cell research here, we may all have to go to Australia to get the cure. Take care, Bill and Charlotte ================================= myelo wrote: > Dearest Anne, > > Have you thought of coming to the states????Surely we have more surgeons > here!!!!!!!!!!!!! > > later and hugs, > cindy > > Anne > > > Hi All > > Well investigations are completed. Guest guest
When we have patients at the hospital w/ pancreatitis or some other condition where the digestive tract needs to be completely bypassed or rested for a while, they are given TPN (Total Parentral? Nutrition) by IV. It's a dark yellow liquid that apparently is predigested nutrition that can go directly into the bloodstream. I even met one woman who had been on it for years due to a chronic condition. Blessings,
Guest guest
My husband, Ralph, was fed this way for a while after his PEG tube failed. Not as satisfying as chewing and tasting but it was a life saver. It went right into the blood stream near the heart. I never did understand the full particulars but the shunt was kept there in his chest for emergencies when they went to the Garshong nasal tube. What a misery for a long time, from April until he was released from this world of pain in July of last year, 2000. Take care. Guest guest
Bill, I don't know about the flight killing but I do know Anne wants to live! The United States has many more surgeons than Australia this alone would give a better bank of surgeons to choose from. As far as law suits and such, my attorney told me that staff surgeons at (federally funded) teaching hospitals have monetary limited liability. This is not really a issue with them.
