Guest guest
YES - I do believe a connection. Neither of my kids sleep well during a full moon (regarless of the date)-so as a result, neither do I. and I am not a superstitious person. But something about the moon must effect biorythims...Take Care.
Guest guest
<Just curious -- anyone else having problems tonight?> Amazingly, we put down at 8:00 last night and he slept until 7:00 this morning. Quite a feat for him. We have been giving him 1.5mg of Melatonin at bedtime for about two weeks. It seems to be helping. Pat

Typically we are blessed with two children who sleep the night through (unless sick)....even my Autie never fell into the sleep issue catagory. However, last night...full moon night...both of them were up unexplainedly two times each. As fate would have it, this was staggered every two hours between them (up at 11, 2, 4, 6, & up for the day at 7am!) So I felt like I was dealing with a newborn's schedule! Today I am almost too tired to enjoy the beautiful Fall day (at 70+ degrees!!!!) here in the Northeast. <zzzzzzzzzzz> -Ali

Melatonin can cause night mares with long term use. My son does well with it used on occasion but if we use it on a daily basis, he will begin to have nightmare like behavior (and then does not sleep well!) Zach goes through phases. He is sleeping well right now, but about 1-2 x per month he has a bad night. If he wakes before 3 am, I will give him melatonin, if after that (on a school day), I can not give it.
