Guest guest
This reminds me, on the realmilk.com website Sally claims that vitamins B12 and B6 are destroyed by pasteurization. I've read elsewhere that B6 is easily destroyed by heat, but B12? Wouldn't lots of people whose animal foods are cooked meats, eggs and pasteurized milk have B12 deficiencies? I tried to find out at what temperature B12 is destroyed, but couldn't find anything and haven't gotten around to doing more research. Does anyone have a reference for this? I'm also disturbed by the some of the questionable sources and shaky evidence on the WAPF site. I hate to make a big deal about it because I think the WAPF is basically correct in most of what it advocates, and because more mainstream nutrition books and websites (and plenty of peer-reviewed studies) get away with far worse. It is a problem though, and it makes it really easy for people to dismiss the rest of what the WAPF has to say. I think it would be worthwhile to email Sally whenever we notice claims that don't make sense or the use of really bad sources. It might not have much of an effect at first, but if she starts to see that we expect evidence from reliable sources to back up any claim, her standards of what constitutes good evidence might gradually improve.
