I have had acid reflux ( gerd) for 20 years. I keep it under

control

with Prilosec 40. No stomach pain , but now have Barrets esophagus.

this is a pre-cancerous condition . The hives leave deep raspberry

marks

for 24--48 hours.

when I stopped eating fried foods.

How many have stomach pain?

How many of you get hives and are left

Hi !!

Always have acid reflux with hives, as well as stomach pain and diarrhea.

Sometimes I get bruising (black & blue) after hives and swelling, and a few

times I've had flushing, mostly in the face/neck.

How many of you get hives and are left with raspberry/deep red squashed

Jackie, I am trying to piece together something going on with Alena. Could

I ask a personal question? Have you ever been tested for mastocytosis? Or

was it ever considered by any of your doctors over the years? Or could they

contribute those symptoms to something else completely? Love,

, I haven't been tested for masto, it's never been brought up by any

of my doctors. Never even heard of it until I joined this group, in fact. As

for the gastro symptoms, about half the doctors I've seen have said it's

from internal hives, the other half say it's not related to the CU and don't

address that problem (those are the doctors I ditch in a hurry!). The

bruising I never brought up, just always assumed it was from either

scratching or swelling. My flushing is due to cholinergic urt, so I was

told. Hope this helps.

I have occasional intestinal/stomach pain.

I get hives and am left with the raspberry/red marks.

I get flushing of my face, at times.

Dear ,

I had acid reflux for years but it seems to be cured with Previcid (which I

no longer take)

I am left with fawn colored bruises occasionally.

I have no stomach pain, flushing or red spider marks.

With severe episodes she has bad stomach cramps and sometimes vomiting.

She hasn't had that for a long time.

Hi ,

Yeah, I flush all over, but mostly notice it when my head and torso

get hot. and, yes, we had a great time. it was really hot and humid.

we went to a water park one day and my head got sunburned, and I have

all my hair. We also did an amusment park and I even rode on the

roller coasters...

Yeah, it was tough, but somebody had to do it, camping that is :o) Got

my mama to come over one night and make chicken cacitori. Man was it

good :o) The brown spots can last for a couple of months but usually 3

to 4 weeks, some go through the bruising process changing color and

some don't. The bruise color is never blue...

,

The only thing I ever had on your list is stomach pains. I still get

them but not bad. Recently had pains on my right side in back and

sometimes in stomach, but mostly back. It was determined to be

constipation because nothing else showed up on tests. This was a

pleasant side effect of antihistamines. When I was a kid, teenager,

early twenties, I had stomach aches on and off. Never really found a

cause, always thought it was indigestion or something. One time I had

a severe stomachache, which I never found a cause for.

Hi ,

I have acid reflux extremely bad, so I take the Zantac twice a

day (not just for the hives). I don't have stomach pain as much as

intestinal pain and instant dirreaha. Some days my hives leave

yellow stains to my skin and other there are purple bruises. My hives

flush every where (bright red and extremely hot- hotter than 105

degrees). The skin is then very sensitive to touch. On days like that

I don't want anyone touching me. Bobbie.

Gee - this sounds like a good use for the Polls feature in this

group. Here are my answers anyway.

How many of you hivers also have acid reflux? Yes - it goes along

with my spastic acholasia (esophagus closes shut).

How many have stomach pain? No.

How many of you get hives and are left with brown marks that may

look kinda like a fawn colored bruise? Marks are left when I get bad

ones at my waist line - kind of like severe sunburn. The skin peels

too.

How many of you get hives and are left with raspberry/deep red

squashed spider looking marks? No.

How many of you flush? If you do is your entire body involved or is

it localized? I flush dreadfully if I drink wine. I don't think it

is related to the hives.

I have some more questions - like what are our ages? I'm 51.

How many of us are overweight? I am.

How many of us had mono (to follow on another thread)? I had it in

college.

Someone else asked if we had been teachers? Yes - though only a

couple of years.

Is anyone compiling these answers?

Hi....answers (and I doubt anyone's compiling)

I get red/brown spots like freckles where I have had hives, and this has

rendered me like a spotted hyena. I hate it.

I have acid reflux. I am also overweight. I have never had mono...I HAVE

had Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever and they are finding some residual

autoimmune issues with that...and the urticaria is definitely an autoimmune

kind of " dysfunction/symptom "

Most of my hives are related to yellow dye #5, any yeasts (which is why wine

is so bad -breads etc), wheat, peanuts (probably molds/yeasts), corn, soy and

potatoes (white)

.. However, I still get them at night and I think its low blood sugar or

something. They are really debilitating!!! Mine started to be severe after

about 3 years on Prozac and I can't take any of the antidepressants because

they predispose me to such hives.

Don't flush all over except sometimes.

Blessings all....this group has been so helpful
