They need to read Fast Food Nation. As its explained if you're a consumer or farmer you're supporting the dozen corporations that got their biggest boost from Reagan's term. You don't even want to go big chicken farming the corporations will control your every move. I think the only way a small farmer can make a go of it is to serve their community and diversify to value added products....like it should have stayed.
