Guest guest
I had a very interesting day today. I ran into a lady at the mall today who has a son with CF that is 20 years old. I met this lady almost 14 years ago, was just a baby. I was getting her picture taken at a local JCPenny and she was getting her twins pictures taken who were the same age. Many years later we met and found that we now had in common, CF children. Her son, and my daughter. Strangely, the few times I called her to talk about CF and the treatment and just to have some support, she was very distant. Well, today for the first time, she talked CF! She told me that she really didn't talk about it as she had quit taking him to the CF clinic locally and started taking him to Canada! She has been using alternative medications and at some times American medications. I guess until he was 18, this was really illegal for her to do. She has the alternative meds shipped to a local pharmacy here, but strangely she didn't know the names of the meds as she claims her mother takes care of the CF stuff! I am very curious as to what the difference in treatment is from America to Canada? I guess she uses the Children's Hospital in Canada. So, can you Canadians help me out??!! Do you mainly use alternative meds at the CF center's there or do you use the same medications as us Americans? Thank you in advance!
