Guest guest
I've been able to find only one source of raw milk here in the Seattle area, and at 75 miles away, " in the Seattle area " is stretching it quite a bit. I figure that with gas and the cost of wear and tear on my car, this milk is costing me something on the order of $30-40 per gallon. At that price, I might as well just save the time and have it shipped to me. Unfortunately, shipping from back east is, as my fellow left-coasters know, very expensive, since most perishable foods have to be shipped by 2-day air. UPS Ground, though, is very cheap--something like $13 to send 30 pounds, which is about how much three gallons of milk and packaging should weigh. In the interest of obtaining some raw milk at an only slightly outrageous price, I'm looking for someone who is willing to ship milk to Seattle from one of the following areas: Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Utah, Western Montana, or Northern California or Nevada. I'll take milk from any animal, though I'd prefer cow's. You will, of course, be compensated for your time and expenses, and I don't care whether you milk it yourself, buy it from a neighbor, or buy it from a store. E-mail me off the list if you're interested. Alternatively, if you live in the Seattle area and would like to split orders of butter and cream from back east to save on shipping, e-mail me. Thanks.
