Medditerranian dishes will call for cinnamon and it enhances the hot pepper flavor and makes the dish hotter. Grace, a Augustine I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright. I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun more. I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive. I wish you enough pain so that the smallest joys in life appear much bigger. I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting. I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess. I wish you enough ''Hello's " to get you through the final goodbye. --anonymous ----- Original Message ----- From: Carmen Sent: Wednesday, April 10, 2002 2:33 PM Subject: Spices and Herbs was Time to NT <<<<< Carmen, do you then use any one of those dressings on salad? Like the pizza spices in the dressing and then on the salad? If so, I never thought of that. Dennis>>>>> Yes, that's what I do. The typical group of spices for pizza only tastes like pizza when it's on pizza << Hi Carmen, I butchered a hen today and shes now in the crockpot one day later than I'd planned. I've gotta get some spices and herbs in the pot too cause the poultry smell is not real great. Any ideas? Dennis >>>> I expect the chicken is done by now, but I'll answer anyway. When I bake chicken I frequently just rub the skin with olive oil and put plenty of sea salt and pepper all over the skin and in the cavity. You can toss a few cloves of garlic in the cavity too. . I sprinkle it on before baking and we love the crispy chicken skin coated with cinnamon. I also put plenty of cinnamon in chicken soup. Lemon and dill are also very nice with chicken. I personally like to oven bake my chicken just because it makes the skin crispy, but crock pot chicken is of course delicious too. Gotta go. All this food talk is making me hungry, Carmen P.S.- I admire that you are willing and able to butcher your own chickens.
