I've not had a problem cleaning the separator, I take it apart and wash it. Right now I'm making it about once a week as we have lots of milk. During the summer and winter we don't have as much so I make it less often. I try to save up about 7-10 gallons of milk, separate it one day and churn it with a little fresh milk the next. Also: what do you use to churn with? Sonja
