Guest guest
Hi everyone; Let see, Spring cleaning of my desk, clearing out and off my desk of all the junk that came in over the last year and just got 'put' to be handled later...going through my old clothes and getting rid of those that I haven't worn in a year or more. I have area rugs that I need to run by the dry cleaners once every two years, clean the air filters for the furnace and air conditioner, clean out the laundry room, which is where the cat box is, remove the cat litter that she carried into all the little nooks and crannies with her long haired paws, scrub the floor...do the normal vacuuming, dusting, wash the interior of the windows...have to wait for the snows and winter winds to finish before I can go out and do any gardening...clean up mostly, as I didn't get it done in the fall...plant some flower bulbs that I have waiting, plant some rose bushes and replace those that didn't make through this weird winter...wash and wax the car... And I know that my mom has a 'honey do' list that I will be working on, as my dad is no longer with us to do these little things. Try to be patient with my roommate, my mom, as she still hasn't a clue what it is to live with this lovely thryoid disease...she has only been around it these last 3 years...I lived on my own when I had my crashes...nope she thinks that Docs are the answer...NOT... However, I am not going to get into an argument with her over my treatment...she just has to learn that I will get things done when I can, not in her time frame, which of course, pisses her off...okay enough of that train of thought. All this will probably take me 6 months...however its great to get even one thing done a week...along with the normal work load. Guest guest
Hi All, My plans for spring are about the same as every year spring clean. we have a one bedroom apartment and what I used to clean in a week is probably take me 2 months to clean . One room a day rooms like my gigantic Kitchen will take longer cause I an going to strip the old was and scrub it and refinish it. WHICH REMINDS ME DOES ANYONE KNOW OF A WAY TO STRIP A TILE FLOOR. I am not sure how to go about it I mean what do I use. I don't think the person who lived here last ever stripped it and boy does it need it bad she just waxed over the spots and it is making me nuts now cause I know they are there I nned to strip the floor and wah them up. I am planning on being busy all spring and summer with this place getting it a bit spiffier. I want to paint all the walls I am in the mood for cloro on the dull white walls something to brighten it up in this dark drab apartment. what do you think of a like a light orchid for the bathroom and not sure yellow or Rose for the Kitchen beige for the living room and sky blue or light blue in the bedroom I am also refinishing the wood work in the kitchen I don't know who in their right minds ever cover that beatiful wood with all those horrrid colors ,there has to be at least 5 layers of paint I have counted yellow and gawdy electric blue, red, withe black, and shitty brown is what my landlord has them painted now and oh ladies the beautiful wood that is under that mess is unbelieveable. So I am doing that and planting something out side in my little garden. I think I might just put some rose bushes in. not sure yet. So I guess I will be busy not sure how all this is going to go with my back in such bad shape but hey I do what God will allow and no more. Well have a great spring to all and hope you all achieve what you wantto achieve. Guest guest
On the first Saturday of the month we like to do something a bit different here on TTSG. We chose a topic that we feel may be of interest to our members as a way of opening up discussion on topics that we may share other than Thyroid and all of it's related 'joys'. It's a great way to get to know facets of each others lives and to make our support family just a bit closer, and maybe a bit more fun and interesting. So for this one day we get to go a off topic for the day.... !!! Theme Day April 2006 !!! Brain Farts aka Where Am I? We were talking about this a couple of weeks ago. Forgetting really silly things before you can get them started, or right in the middle of doing them, or just flat out forgetting what you were doing or saying. At the time it sounded like an excellent Theme Day topic and I jotted it down so that I wouldn't forget... Then I'm checking the calendar and realizing that the next Theme Day is on April Fool's Day!!!! How perfect... we get to share our farts on a day when it's cool to be laughing... So dig those stories out of the recesses of your brain, grab your cans of air freshener, and get ready to share your favorite farts with us on this very appropriate Theme Day! You're about to find out that you aren't the ONLY one!
