Sandy is such a wonderful, positive lady and I

know that even if not right away, she will realize how wonderful she

is going to feel with her new " plumbing " ! She is going to lose the

weight she wants to and feel great! I just know it!!>>>>

Kjay: You just gave me an idea! I'm going to print out all the

responses/posts to both Sandy and Anne and give it to them personally

tomorrow, since I'm sure they will be deluged with e-mail when they are home

and may miss some greetings. :)

I have yours and Veras and will copy and paste anyone else's! So, send those

greetings to Anne and Sandy K! I'll visit them tomorrow!

I got to speak with Sandy this a.m. -- she had just returned from the dreaded

swallow test. She was in good spirits --- but upset that neither Dr. Gagner

or his assisting surgeon came to update/visit yet. She didn't see Dr. G

before the surgery, last night and even today. I would be disappointed as

well. He's in surgery now, so he didn't answer a page when she was in

radiology b/c the barium didn't go down all the way (probably due to

swelling).

She had a scare in recovery - the anesthesia temporarily paralyzed her and

she had to be on the ventilator for about 5 hours. They removed it but she

was unable to breath on her own, so they had to reinsert it. I can only

imagine the terror she must have felt! :)

She says she feels fine, isn't even on any pain meds but is just perturbed

that she hasn't seen a doctor yet at day 2! :) When does Dr. G visit? What

was everyone else's experience? I would think that he'd visit before the am

surgeries... but maybe it's his practice to visit after he's done the

surgeries the next day? Just wondering...

I called Anne, but she was still in radiology. I'll call later for an

update.

Here's their info:

Sandy Kane: Room 310B, 10E

Anne Conway: Room 302A, 10E

I'm sure they'd love to hear from everyone! :) I'll update more later.

all the best,
