I used to be on this with Freeserve (until the addiction became so bad thet I needed 24 hour access!). The service was fine though it often took a few attempts to connect, and it was very easy to load and use the off-peak software. One good thing about Freeserve is that they seem to allow you to use another server's email address for sending and receiving mail so that you can dial up with Freeserve, but continue to use your existing email. It costs the same and you get free unlimited access at any time. After some initial hiccups I think its great. Its really easy to use, you get free technical support (online or by phone) and it has some great features. HTH PT SAHM to Ciaran & (Back from the Ether!!) Guest guest
Yes, we're on that deal, with Freeserve as our isp. previously had quite a bit of trouble with FS but they seem to have got their act together and its working fine. Of the £14.99 you pay for BT Surftime, £9.99 is your BT line rental which I assume you still have to pay if you are using AOL with a BT line. Guest guest
> Does anyone use BT surftime - where you pay BT £14.99 a month and then > an ISP a fee for weekend and evening free internet? We have surf and talk time on 2 lines and our isp is btinternet and dh works for BT (but there are no perks!) It was the best move we made. Our phone bill is much cheaper. And dd1 has just turned 13 and wants to talk to friends all the time - it's so wonderful to say wait till 6pm and then you can talk all you like - as long as she isn't on one call for more than an hour. I used to have my best friend - local - on friends and family. now I have taken her off because all those call have become free as well - altho' to be honest we don't always remember to hang up and redial after the hour is up. We're paying £19.99 a month for one line and another £9 a month for the second line. But bear in mind my monthly direct debit to BT is £120!!!! Now we are in credit for the first time in years and I am confidently waiting for them to lower my dd amount. Hip hip hooray! Sue
