Guest guest
First of all thank you to Vicky and for your thoughtful reply's to my questions. I am determined to do this now I have some very serious questions I hope they are OK and if people would prefer to post me the answers privately I understand. How many people on this list have died? How and why? What are the most frequent complications? What are the worst complications? How many people have had to have emergency surgery following the Switch operation. Has anyone had to be placed on artificial respiration as a result of a complication if so for how long and how are you now? Has anyone experienced Breathing problems as a result of this operation? Did anyone who had breathing problems before the operation find a worsening in the initial post op period? Was your pain managed effectively? Have any of you experienced anxiety related to post op complications and what was done for you? If any of you had anxiety related mental illness prior to surgery does it preclude you from being approved psychiatrically? Is there any complications with this particular surgery that are more serious in smokers (I am quitting) if so what? What happened and what was the outcome? What are the chances of my not waking from the anesthesia if I have been under general anesthesia before? I'm sorry to be so blunt but I have to really address the issues that concern me and I have no physician with experience in this at this time. I would appreciate any honest answers thanks you people are really helping me make this very important decision. Mark
