Guest guest
Hi Kim I had the RNY surgery and I now have reflux, where as I did not before surgery. I don't know why, I only know it is HORRIBLE! My surgeon gives me Prilosec for it and I don't have any problems, unless I forget to take it for a couple of days. It sure reminds me in a hurry to take it daily! Have you tried this medication or Prevacid also works? Before surgery I did have terrible indigestion daily and was on Prevacid for that. I guess I just traded one thing for another, huh? Oh well, I don't mind - it was certainly well worth it to me ) Hugs Debbie H 8/4/99 296/168 Dr J --- Kim Novak wrote: > Do any of the people who have had the bypass surgery suffer > from reflux > anymore? Guest guest
Kim, I also had a VBG by Dr. Hamn in 1997. I never had acid reflux until I had the VBG. I then had it on average twice a week. Once I had my revision to RNY I have not had 1 single acid reflux incident. It cured the problem. It is actually a benefit of the revision. I heard that the RNY was developed from surgeries done to cure acid reflux. jane s. [NTXWLS] Reflux Do any of the people who have had the bypass surgery suffer from reflux anymore? I am and was wondering if I went to a revision if this would cure it?
