Guest guest
Thank you for responding. When my Dr. suggested prednisone could send me into remission I think he meant that I would be hive free with out any further meds indefinately. I think he meant cured. He knows I know it will make the hives go away while I'm taking it. The weird thing is the first time I saw him he said I've already taken too much prednisone because of the side effects and he didn't want me to take more. This past visit was my third and now it seems he is trying to convince me to take more. Confusing... Thanks again, Holly, NJ
Guest guest
Holly -- I get confused keeping everyone's individual "stories" about URT straight. A lot about Prednisone should now be your decision (for the most part)(unless it is given in an emergency situation). Factors to consider in my opinion, would be: how bad the hives are and for how long; how much (Pred.) he wants to give you and how long the expected taper will be. There is obviously much more to it than that, but I sure do know that the less Prednisone taken the better ... Prednisone is NOT a cure. I hope he didn't mean that or even think that. I am doing ok at my taper again. I am now at 1 tablet (5 mg.) every other day, for about a week. Barbara Lundin So.
