Is Sally's source for kefir grains in Appendix C not a reliable one

or what? I hadn't tried there yet, but was going to be looking into

ordering kefir grains myself soon and had planned on using her

source. Is there some reason I shouldn't?

No, it's great, but it costs $20. Sometimes people on the kefir list will

give you grains for free. I got mine from GEM, though, and they're terrific.

I ordered from them and they are fine. They are live grains, not the dried

I have a friend who keeps his in distilled water when he is not

making kefir with them. I don't know how long they will keep this

way...
