Guest guest
Hello everyone, Im currently taking 137mcg of levothyroxine. To make a long story short, for many years the doctors have done blood tests when I come in complaining of feeling ill, lethargic, tired, weak, and insomnia with horrible back pain (entire spine up into my head). I have been diagnosed with the following, Hashimotos, Migraines, Fibromyalgia and Depression. I believed the doctors after much fighting that it was NOT depression and put myself in the psych ward twice per there requests. HMM MMMM finally asked for records copies after a recent incident were I went into urgent care unable to do anything after throwing up for three weeks. They did blood tests and after two hours told me I had know choice but to put myself back in the psych ward and that it was all psychological. So in sadness and defete I packed my bags and my husband and family were on there way to drop me off at the psych ward that night when I asked my husband to pull into another urgernt care of a completely different named clinic in our area. They ran the same tests. NOT ONE WORD WAS SAID ABOUT DEPRESSION!! They said my WBC was up - and that I was severely dehydrated. They put me on two IV bags. Added a med for nausea and one for my migrain. Then after three hours of care told me and my husband I have a virus of some sort and my WBC was up and I should see internal medicane within 3 - 5 days to see where the infection might be. SO we did.... Back to the other story, We got copies of my records from the past clinic and for THREE YEARS or Lab TESTS my WBC has BEEN UP!!!!! and the first time I had put myself in the psych ward when they told me to my TSH was 13.37 DID THEY DECIDE to tell my tsh was this high and treat that FIRST. NO!!! Did they tell me my WBC has been up all these years? NO!!!!! I have established new drs. with this new clinic and within this one month have found new thyroid care. new ob care (I have surgery next week for Severe Dysplasia on the cervix) Neurologist, and new Rheumotologist... NOTHING has come up that I might have depression. NOT ONE!!!! Talk about being mad. We have made contact with the last clinic and have contacted a lawyer for malpractice possibilities. I am off ALL Psych meds and doing well. One other miracle I want to state. I took my 137mcg levothyroxine today at 8 am I was started on Armour today to replace the levothyroxine I took 1 and half grain at 12:00 and at 2:00pm My back pain that I haven't been able to get rid of with any pain meds suddenly dissapeared. Now I know I cant continue on 137mcg of levo and 11/2 grain of armour its just i started it that way to get my body started on the armor and slowly wean of the levo so I dont dive like I did last time they switched me. But man what an amazing story. If this is true about the thyroid/fibro connection.... maybe there is some truth to the pain relief with thyroid med (t4 and t3) Had to share this story cause I know many of you are being told you have depression. DON " T BUY IT!! PLS Deana

Guest guest
Hi Deana, I listened and have now read your testimony. PTL He does give us wisdom if we would only listen or put into pratice what we learn from the experience of others. I am so happy for you and I know that now that you are on the right road it won't be long and you will be feeling like a new woman. Guest guest
Good God Deana! I hope I don't offend anyone by swearing, but sue their sorry asses like no one has ever sued anyone before. Do not give up. Get them. They are horrible pathetic losers who should have their licenses revoked and never be allowed to even practice on earthworms let alone human beings! The nerve of those creeps. I'm angry on your behalf!!!! Grrrrr...I hope your lawyer is really bloodthirsty! Your story sort of helps me with a concept I was mulling over - that is: I think my doctor on Friday is hesitant to go against all the wrong treatments I've received at the hands of his colleagues. In fact, the allergist who did me wrong was one he recommended to me. On Friday, he didn't even touch my throat at all to see if the gland felt funny. So, I am thinking just like your loser doctors kept covering up their own ineptitude, so maybe are mine. I too am seeking that new doctor who is in another completely different medical system here. That shall be interesting... but back to you... You go girl! And if I can in any way assist in this do let me know and I will do what ever I can to help. They should NOT get away with what they did to you. Bless your heart and I pray you will be completely healed now. Hugs and Love, -Lynn > > Hello everyone, > > Im currently taking 137mcg of levothyroxine. Guest guest
I am so glad you made that spontaneous stop and it led to your finding out what is wrong, and fixing it. I'm glad you're on your way to feeling much better! Stupid doctors!!! Untreated hypothyroidism does make you depressed, but fixing it makes it go away, too, not just covering it up with a medication for depression which has its own side effects and doesn't help the underlying problem. Yay!! SO glad to hear a good story! Re: Share a Little Story Hello everyone,Im currently taking 137mcg of levothyroxine. Guest guest
Deana , Wow what a horiffic story. Putting yourself in a psych ward and then more thaan once you poor lady that is awful making you believe you were loosing it. I have been treated for Depression and panic attack ans anxeity for the last 3 years. But I am greatful for the meds at least it keeps me from sitting and crying every day and night. I use to get panic attacks that would make me sit in an obsure place in the house hidden corner or shower with curtain closed and just cry and shake, until they put me on 50 mg of seroquel and 225 mg of Effexor XR I to hope that once they get my number straightened out and get me diagnosed I can get off the pills. I don't sleep at night I hav horrible back aches cause I do have sereve arthritis in my spine and degenerative joint disease in my lumbar spine and I am suppose to take 1 darvocet for pain as needed well I go all day long trying not to take this darvocet and just take tylenol which don't touch the pain then at night I take one and if in 3 hours it hasn't worked I take another one and still nothing. I am going to ask this week for something better something that will work I think I am just so immune to them cause I was taking them for 2 years cause of my uterine cancer and the pain I was in everyday. I take Darvocet 100 - 650 tabs and I realize that is a hefty dose but non the same they don't work for me anymore,so I need something better, I was seriously considering katy's idea or liz's not sure but the idea of accu punture I am in so much pain everyday I will try anything.I am just so happy for you that you did that impulsive stop at the other clinic and actually found out what was wrong. God Bless you and do your happy dance. I also hope you just get better and better every day. Guest guest
Tammy, I hope you don't feel hurt. I don't think there is a person here who would ever intentionally want to make you feel bad. You're such a sweetie It's just Deana's story reminds me of the way doctors used to hand out antibiotics wrongly for viral illness - often when they felt pressure to do* something* they figured, 'well, this is something' so out came the antibiotic prescription. By not seeing the real cause, the antibiotics created resistences- which could be a problem when they would be needed for the true illness they were created to treat. I think that's the thing with Deana's story - they didn't look deep enough to see the root. There are some folks for whom depression a serious illness on its own - but for others I think it i a side effect of something else. The docs have to find the root to know which they are dealing with. Anyway - I just wanted to write mostly to let you know no one wants to see you feel hurt. There has been a lot of people suffering from hurt feelings in the group lately (I was one of them for a while too)- I could just give ya all a big hug! -Lynn > > Thank you for everyones support and responses.
