Hi Nil,

Well this is interesting. I just bought a digital BP monitor after my manual

sphygmomanometer bit the dust.

Without the 3 minute wait -

sitting: 95/61 - P 93

standing: 127/93 - P 105

With the 3 min wait until I stood up.

sitting: 113/73 - P 94

standing: 100/61 - P 100

Hi all

It is said that one needs to wait for at least three minutes between

successive measurements while using digital BP monitors. How do you solve this

problem while taking a measurement. Do you wait for 3 minutes before you stand

up or can we just ignore this?

thanks a lot.

I would be more inclined to believe the second readings. It is HIGHLY unusual

for the diastolic to change THAT much in a few minutes time for any reason.

With my BP monitor, if I don't wait 3 minutes between readings is

gives an error message
