Guest guest
Can you describe your yearly fast in detail? And why do you do it? Thanks, During my yearly fast I will sometimes take superfood twice a day (4 tablespoons). Then I have it mixed with juice and water. Thanks, *********I fast once a year for cleansing purposes. Sometimes I fast for spiritual purposes. I have done so since I was 21. I usually do it during Eastern Lent so I don't have to constantly explain to everyone why I'm doing it. They usually say " oh its lent " even though that is not why I'm fasting. My longest fast was 42 days on juices, herb teas, potassium broths, water, and my own version of SuperFood (no nutritional yeast). I have done many thirty day and three week fasts. My very first was for 21 days and had a very interesting detox that I will always remember. Fasting is what I intially used to beat my thyroid problem. I also alternate a liver flush (dietary - none of the crazy stuff I see on the web) with a kidney flush during the fast. I will use a special intestinal cleanse formula as well. I have prospered marvelously over the years by following this regimen. After the first few days it really isn't that tough. You would be amazed at the junk that comes out of one's system even after a month of fasting, the improvement of taste and smell, the better eyesight, etc. etc. People are always amazed at how good I look and how much energy I have when I am in the midst of this protocol. Some of my greatest work and insights usually come near the end of a very long fast when I don't require much sleep and have an unbelievable amount of energy. It still boggles my mind to think about it. It has gotten to the point where I look forward to this time every year. For many of my terminally ill patients this is what I initially started them on. I don't do or recommend water fasts but juice fasts I have found over the years to be quite helpful. It brings a physical and psychological rest that is hard to describe. Of course I don't have any " proof " of this, I'm just sharing with you my personal testimonial and my clinical experience. Fasting is a practice that has deep roots both among humans and animals. And while there are European clinics that use it as a weapon against disease, I'm not currently up to date with the scientific literature on the subject, although I have read a plethora of books on fasting, both religiously oriented and health oriented. I really need to do one (never have before), but when I look around at various ones in books or on the Net i have no idea if they are reasonably gentle and effective, or whether I'm going to be in misery while doing them. Is there any particular book, article, etc that you recommend for cleansing and fasting in general? As for websites I would have to look again to see what is worth recomending. Bianca

Mine differs from his in that I'm much more particular about my olive oil and sometimes I will add coconut oil to the mix and leave out the garlic (if I have people around). I don't have one book or article that I would recommend on fasting or cleanisng. I'm working on compiling some things and will pass it along when done. From my vantage point they all have strengths and weaknesses. Perhaps I should just post what I do. Bianca
