Guest guest
Howdy from the great state of Texas... There are so many new people forgive me if I can't keep you all straight these days... anyway, is welcome the right word really for having to be on a list such as this? Glad you found it anyway, you will find great support and tons of information. Where else can you talk about your child's poop and snot and not have someone look at you " funny " or say Yuk? Enzymes: I have always given his enzymes during or right when he is finished eating. There were a few times when we were rushed I would give ahead of the meal then he wouldn't eat. So I give them after or right before he is finished I will set them by his plate or in a little med cup (the ones from Pepto or Nyquil), now to confuse you even more I determine the number he gets by what he is eating (this is not an exact science and has taken 6 years to figure out). If he is eating fried foods, or real fatty foods I give more enzymes, if it is say chicken and baked potatoes (fairly low fat) I give the lower number of enzymes. Snacks of fruit...no enzymes unless he drinks a big glass of milk too. It is more of taking the guidelines the doctor gives you and then figure out the best for your child by trying it. Since adjusting the enzymes according to how much and what eats, he rarely complains of a tummy ache and is hardly ever bloated. : What a sweet thing for your mother's friend to do... sorry to hear about her death though, it's sad to see those we care about suffer like that. And yes children are so eloquent in what they say at times, and very observant too. I believe it is good to talk about death when it happens or before hand if a death is foreseen. I did this before my Mom died and my boys had a better grasp (especially , compared to my nephew who is 's age) of what had happened to grandma and where she was and that whole concept. I know I had more to respond to but now it escapes me... Update: I will be the mother of teenager come this saturday...Oh my...this is definitely new ground for me. The whole happy one minute and stomping about " that is unfair " really threw me for a loop when it first started. I thought only girls were like that, is a cross between 13 and 3 I think. He is growing into such a handsome and active young man...were did my baby go? We are renting one of the local swimming pools tomorrow night ( I must be absolutely crazy, just call the men with the little white coat I am going on vacation Club Psych) LOL. is doing GREAT!!! It has been such a great year. He has grown taller, but I am afraid he hasn't gained much weight since January (we missed his May appointment, will go back August 7th), but he is in the 55-60% for weight and 55-65% for height...he is so active though, hopefully when school starts back up he will put a bit more weight on. He looks and acts so healthy though. He has hardly had any seasonal allergy problems this summer, amazing. Clayton is doing great too...enjoying reading, playing nintendo and pestering his brothers... he is happy. Trying to stay on top of the seasonal allergies which give him sinus troubles and last year an ear infection before school started. At least he realizes what he needs to do and doesn't fight the zyrtec and flonase. He is almost as tall as (who is now about an inch taller than me at 5'4 " ) UGH!!! Well I am going to bed, take care and hope those little ones who are not feeling well get better very soon. Love and prayers, Daelynn Mom of 3 wild boys (and baseball season is finally over), almost 13 (ugh the teenager, worse than the terrible two's), Clayton 10 and the best aggreviater in the whole world, and then there's 6 going on 21 and has plans to be an artist, work at the store, an actor and his last job will be President and live to be the oldest man in the world...oh he has cf too.
