My doctor said it IS an allergy, a type of dermatitis (and I even found it

in the Merck manual). I haven't had it since going on the diet I'm on

(which is changed in so many ways I can't pin it down: no gluten, no

packaged foods, coconut oil, pre-processed grains, probiotic foods). So I

think there IS a nutritional fix, but I don't know what it is specifically.

There is a commercial sunscreen that is specifically geared for that

condition, but I can't recall the name (it is advertised a lot in health

magazines though).

I break out in a rash from the sun also, it typically doesn't show up until

24-48hrs after I've been out in the sun and lasts for about two weeks.

Unfortunately I haven't found that Xolair or prednisone or anything else for

that matter make it significantly better. My dermatologist has suggested

phototherapy to reduce my skin's sensitivity but I'm reluctant and just attempt

to stay out of the sun as much as possible.

my arm are breaking out and I haven't been in contact with anything that I can

think of that would cause this problem.

allergy and if they can add any information to my situation.

I have had a sun allergy for years - long before going on Xolair. I have to

always use at least 50 spf sun lotion - even in the car or near windows. My

dermatologist recommended sun clothing and I have found great clothing at

Coolibar.com. A little expensive, but worth every penny. I even bought a

long sleeve, long pant swim suit from them and I love it!

I don't have sun allergy but because I am so fair, my dermatologist had

suggested " sun " clothes and said that several of her patients use them.  I have

never tried them.  I just try to stay out of the sun as much as possible.

Thanks for the Coolibar recommendation, Anastesia. It happens that I've been

out shopping at the local stores for a wide brimmed sun hat to protect my face

and couln't find anything that I thought was suitable. But your recommended

site clearly has what I need. Thanks again.

My dermatologist advised me to sunbathe to burn off my Psoriasis. I mowed the

lawn in cut off shorts and laid out in the sun for another hour. I got NO

results except scaring the neighbors half to death by my Psotiasis, fat belly

and skinny legs showing. Those poor people!

I didn't even get a sunburn. I am going to try a tanning bed next.

At least I can breathe thanks to Xolair LOL!

Neutrogena sunscreen doesn't smell so bad and they have a 70 proof version.
