Elder Flower Toner Good for: normal and dry skin Use: daily Follow with: moisturizer if necessary Prep time: 50- 55 mins Mix with: spoon or whisk, small bowl Store in: bottle or spritzer Yields: approx. 50 treatments Special: Super for extra dry skin, especially if oil of sandalwood is used. 1 TBSP elder flowers 1 cup distilled water 1 TBSP glycerin 5 drops essential oil of sandalwood or lavendar (optional) Bring water to a boil and remove from heat. Add herb and steep for 45 mins. in a covered pot. Strain. Slowly add glycerin and essential oil, stirring constantly. Store. Use 1 tsp per application. Shake vigorously before using. Spicy Aftershave Good for: All skin types, except very dry Use: daily or as desired Follow with: moisturizer Prep time: 2 weeks Mix with: shake bottle gently every 2 days Store in: decorative bottle Yields: approx. 12 splashes Special: When strained, can be used as a scented hair rinse for normal or oily dark hair. 2 cups witch hazel 1 sprig fresh rosemary 1 sprig fresh mint of choice 1 cinnamon stick 5 to 10 whole cloves 2 strips fresh orange peel cut into spirals 2 strips fresh lemon peel cut into spirals 15 drops tincture of benzoin Place all of the ingredients and tincture of benzoin in a decorative bottle with the witch hazel. Cap tightly and store for 2 weeks. Leave the herbs and other ingredients in the bottle. Smells delightful! Use approximately 2 1/2 TBSP per application, or more if you like.
