Guest guest
Hi , You are not alone, we know how you feel and your feelings are valid. I found out my mom was BPD 7 months ago and didn't find this site until last month. It is amazing and comforting to hear other people's stories that you can relate to like never before. Best wishes, > > wow, um where to start. im crying right now. i just found this group and just realized everything ive felt other people feel. i have been seeing a counselor and she told me she thinks my mom has BPD. i joined to read about it and i feel like every post i read i wrote. who knew i wasnt alone in how i felt for all these years?? i feel so everwhelmed right now >
Guest guest
Hi - I'm glad you found this group. I know how you feel about finding it. I sat here and cried reading all of the posts when I first found it too. It is so comforting to realize that you aren't alone and that even though your friends or siblings might not understand what you are going through, people here do understand (and care!). I'm assuming you are around early 20s (just from your mention of college)...I'm only 28 but if you would like bit of advice that maybe a few years has given me...read a lot about bpd, it has really given me the power to communicate with my mother in way that doesn't let her have all the power, find a way to suggest to your siblings that they read about bpd (maybe you already did this and they are not receptive) and if they do not agree or they do not chose to read about it, don't discuss your mother with them. Lean on your therapist, other friends, or this group. I've found it is completely pointless to try to convince siblings or other family members of something they don't want to believe. Many times I just come on here and read the posts (I'm not super outgoing so I don't always respond to everyone) it helps so much to just feel like you have a community to turn to. Guest guest
Thank you Mandy. Yeah, I just turned 21 in January. I have not talked to any of my siblings about how I think my mom has BPD, and I probably wont. With the exception of my older brother, everyone else  in my family (my two sisters) seems to be " on her side. " I am kind of shy too and don't really post much but I find comfort in reading what others have written. I am open to any advice and wisdom that you have for me! And I am very appreciative! Thank you! ________________________________ To: WTOAdultChildren1 Sent: Mon, February 7, 2011 11:36:11 PM Subject: Re: Hi, I am new  Hi - I'm glad you found this group. Guest guest
Welcome , Cry let it out!! You are on your way to healing. This group is amazing and we will all be here to help you on your journey. It is very powerful and very safe. I remember finding this group for the first time and learning of BPD. There was such freedom and letting go. It is like I was finally being understood and not alone. It justified that all those feelings and thoughts and second guesses weren't by imagination. We were brainwashed to believe we were the crazy ones. Guess what that is all part of BPD. Gaining knowledge is so valuable. Read as much as you can and share as much as you can. Take care, Kazam x > > wow, um where to start. im crying right now. i just found this group and just realized everything ive felt other people feel. i have been seeing a counselor and she told me she thinks my mom has BPD. i joined to read about it and i feel like every post i read i wrote. who knew i wasnt alone in how i felt for all these years?? i feel so everwhelmed right now >
