Guest guest
I have been nc (pretty much) with my nada since I moved out in January and my life has been soooo stress free (I needed this time to heal). I live in a nearby town (with my older brother) from nada but go to college in the town my nada lives in. My brother called this afternoon saying it was too dangerous to go home from school today...so guess where I am stuck? At nada's. She is the only person I knew who I could stay with. So far things have been ok. My bf texted me saying " for the love of god don't let that woman be mean to you! " ...he has seen how negatively she affects me. I'm really hoping she doesn't be mean. I can't handle it. Say a little prayer for me!
Guest guest
Best of luck to you! Maybe its a good idea (for next time) to check out what your college has to offer by way of temporary shelter for students trapped by blizzard conditions; possibly the college sets up cots in the gymnasium as an emergency shelter for such circumstances, or makes unused dorm rooms available, or perhaps there is a youth hostel in that town, or a few inexpensive motels in the area that you can check out and use as a back-up plan in case you do need to leave nada's quickly. Maybe ask some of your fellow students, your classmates, what they do when they get trapped by the weather. Maybe buy a good thermal sleeping bag and keep it in your car if you live in a part of the country that has blizzards in the winter. It will shift the balance of power into your court if you know you can simply leave the moment nada begins to act out, that you're not trapped in her house with her, with no escape. It will be more like, " OK, Mommy Dearest... you're wanting to pick a fight with me but I decline the invitation, so... I'm outta here. 'bye. " It was such a heady, delightful and almost intoxicating sense of freedom when I finally realized that I did NOT have to just stand there and let her get in my face and scream at me, call me ugly names, put me down, etc. and that I could just... leave! Wow! -Annie > > > > I have been nc (pretty much) with my nada since I moved out in January and my > life has been soooo stress free (I needed this time to heal).
