Guest guest
Hi, I appreciate this group. I've learned a lot in a short time. My mom has BPD, is fanatically religious and has the tendency to be very judgemental. This causes a lot of problems for me in that being religous and judgemental are counterproductive. To me being religious means that you love a higher entity and you don't judge others. In growing up, I hated going to a place of worship because my mom believes in appearances. I was always chastized because I moved around too much in church or I wore the wrong clothes. I always felt she was putting on airs. I was treated like was an extension of her, which was annoying. My mom was causing trouble with other members and as a result, we could not really connect with the church community because we would have change churches. I really hated going to church and I never made an atttempt to find a church home. Until today. I think it's because this group has alerted me to conflicts in thought, like the conflict between being religious and judgemental. I realized that I do have to look at the world that way. I went to church, enjoyed myself and actually stayed for the entire service. Thank you guys so much, Sue
