Guest guest
,that is a brilliant suggestion! Lynnette, I'd be furious too - there's not excuse in the world that makes what your nada is doing okay. You could probably even take her to civil court over this. > > Because you have her current address, why don't you file a change of address form from your address to that address just for her. The mail will stop coming to you and start going to her, plus the post office notifies the social security administration and DMV etc. ( we moved four years ago and were pleasantly surprised by how easy they made the address change.) > > > Sent from my blueberry. Guest guest
Ha ha ha Damn the Torpedos! You are so funny Doug! So this situation - with calling the debt collectors and what they are going to say - reminds me of my " sister-in-law " stalking me. I'd never heard her name, never met her, didn't go to her wedding, didn't get an invite, didn't know my brother got married, didn't care, haven't seen or spoken to my brother in in more than 8 years. All of a sudden, someone with a long, hyphenated name with my last name woven in is sending me hate mail about what a shitty daughter I am and how my mother deserves better!!!!!!! I called the cops of course. The weird thing is, the cop was like " This is your sister-in-law doing this. " Me - " She may or may not be my sister-in-law technically, but I've never met her so I wouldn't know. What IS true is that a total stranger is sending me hate mail and I need you to tell her to stop. " Cop - " But this is your relative, a member of your family. " Me - " No, this is a total stranger, I've never seen her face, heard her voice or shaken her hand. " Cop - " But you do realize this is your sister-in-law. " Me - " That may technically be true, but it is also possible for someone to be a relative by marriage and also be a total, complete, and utter stranger. " And on and on it went. Looking back, I'm pretty damn proud of myself for holding my ground. I wonder if he needed to classify it under family and domestic abuse for the investigation or something, but it felt like he was saying it was okay for a relative to act that way. So anyway, my point is, Lynnette, when you call the cops or whatever, say yes this is my biological mother, but she is also doing something illegal and then stick with it. Guest guest
Dear Lynette Thanks for posting this thread - it gave me the courage to open NADA FADAs mail today.... Contents : One letter from the tax office issuing a declaration to allow them to NOT PAY CAPITAL gains tax as they are APPARENTLY NOT RESIDENT in UK.... : TWO letters from the Pension Office advising that now that they ARE RESIDENT IN THE UK their pensions will increase ???? So now I am confused as to whether they are : a)wilfully committing fraud using my address planning to return to live here ( PLEASE GOD NO!!!!) c)forgetful? (Please can it be option c!!!) I now have to read over Lynnettes answers again to see what I should do. I deliberately ripped the envelopes so they would find out I had opened them. Am trying to be dangerously BRAVE!!!
