Guest guest
Just a quick note & update that's a bit off topic. I had to take a huge benchmark exam to get back into class, and not only did I pass it, I did better than I did on my last benchmark exam the last month I had classes, and it was all new questions. CRAZY! So, I aced my dosage calc. exam, did better on a huge benchmark (and passed!) and even got checked off on all my skills with zero problems... that and the school has been working so well with me to get me back into class... THINGS ARE GOING *TO* WELL!!! LOL! I was so upset to have to sit out due to pain & having to have surgery... heck, even the surgery went super smooth and my recovery has just been phenomenal. This is all so very unusual! But it's a good kind of unusual. Trust me, I'm SO grateful, but I can't help but wonder " wtf? " because I'm not used to things going so smoothly. Maybe it's a KO thing? I don't know. But yes, I'm all set to resume my nursing program on the 1st and with all the tests out of the way, it's officially official ;-) My brain is not used to this, but it likes it hehe. So I am hoping some of this good luck keeps up & spreads to you guys too because we all need some luck sometimes and it seems to me like we're often shorted on that luck, given our childhoods. Just wanted to share a little good news & say that I hope I can " rub off " some of this luck on to those of you who are having a hard time right now. Guest guest
Smiling, remembering my daughter sweating over dosage and nursing plans. And then the day, ( she s a critical care nurse, works ICU ) she called all excited , DAD I passed my ACLS. I can run a code all by myself. Then the next call. DAD! My supervisor said the next code, I run all by myself! OMG OMG OMG! lol . And now she s the supervisor! And this is the one Nada said would never amount to much because she was so stubborn. If you are in ICU, and you code, you ll be glad you have my stubborn , willful daughter as your nurse. Because it may just be the difference in living or dying. Proud? Me? You DAMN right! So you go girl. Get er done! We , your family in spirit, are proud of you. Get er done! Then start healing people. Doug
Guest guest
Aw, thanks Doug! And I just LOVE how much your love for your daughter comes through in your posts when you talk about her & her accomplishments. I can tell you're smiling when you write posts like this and tell that you're proud of her, and probably not afraid to say it! My dad is a lot like that now. I called him today to let him know I passed my big benchmark and that everything was good & official. He said he was proud of me... almost made me cry. I never heard that from nada, not once. Cherish your kids, that's my theory. And I do believe that you do, Doug! Guest guest
high five!!! Congrats, Dad! She sounds like a fantastic person. wow, so that's what it's like to have a parent who believes in you?! so what did you say to your mother when she said that to you? I'm not sure what i would've done. I don't like anyone talking smack about my kids!! > > > Smiling, remembering my daughter sweating over dosage and nursing plans. > And then the day, ( she s a critical care nurse, works ICU ) she called > all excited , DAD I passed my ACLS.
