Guest guest
Everyone, I haven't been on this board in a few months, I think. It seems that I like to take a " leave of absence " and only come through every now and again. Sometimes I think it's too hard to come on and read the posts--because some things can trigger the memory--but days like today... it's so validating to read the recent topics. Does anyone else come and go every few months or week or so? I feel really bad, I know I should contribute more and try to help out others, but I just wanted to thank everyone for being HERE and being OPEN and WILLING to talk. The discussions and discussion topics are very helpful. The validation that what we went through was not our faults is so, so incredibly needed. I think stopping by more often would actually be more helpful than not... anyone agree or disagree? Sometimes I'd rather try and sit here and " forget " everything... but sometimes that makes me think about it even MORE??... whereas, if I get on the board, it then seems much, much easier to cope with. Thoughts...? - Cvidz.
Guest guest
Don't feel bad - we all tune in and out from time to time. > > > Everyone, > > I haven't been on this board in a few months, I think. Guest guest
Well, the board is a support group, so it's a safe place to vent & get advice as well as realize you're not alone by reading others' posts & giving advice back, so it has a very nice therapeutic effect =) It can be hard to get on and check it as regularly as we'd like when we have a lot going on too. I love love love the group but it will be much more difficult for me to check in as regularly as I like to with school starting back up for me next week. But, I plan to check in and read when I can =) I'll probably miss lots of stuff though =( Don't sweat it if you can't be on every day, week, whatever. Trust me, I think we'll all understand that life is what it is... BUSY! =) Mia > > > Everyone, > > I haven't been on this board in a few months, I think. Guest guest
Truly, there are no " shoulds " or " oughts " about how often to visit, read or post here. Its simply about what works best for you. What helps most with your healing, peace of mind, etc.? You're the only one who can answer that question. (I read and/or post virtually every day; that may not work for most people but its what I need right now.) -Annie > > Everyone, > > I haven't been on this board in a few months, I think. Guest guest
True, true... we're all busy. I guess there is no correct amount of time to spend on here--whatever works best for different schedules, situations etc. I think I just realized that it's more " therapeutic " (good word choice!) and helpful for me rather than something to be avoided. Many thanks!! All the best - Cvidz > > Everyone, > > I haven't been on this board in a few months, I think. Guest guest
I don't tend to be superstitious, but when it comes to astrological signs I guess this is where I really am a Libra... I like balance! lol. So I think the trick is going to be trying to keep things in balance without getting overwhelmed. I obviously won't be able to check in every day as I have in the past, but why not once or twice a week? Or if I can't for a whole week... well, I can't. It's ok. Hopefully both of us can figure out that balance so we can continue to give & receive support as well as keep up with a hectic busy life =) Because I agree, it is helpful to be here. And to top it off, it's a great bunch of people and I consider them friends & my " KO family " (as someone else said hehe). Mia > > > True, true... we're all busy. Guest guest
Life happens. There are times I am so busy I can t get on for a bit. Then there was the period recently where depression was killing me and it was hard to do. And yes, it can be intense, because our BP parents were so intense. Think of this as an oasis of cool waters in a turbulent desert. Friends gather in the cool to rest and refresh. Sometimes, one of us is able to cup his hand and hold a cool drink up to parched lips. But no obligations to come, no fear you will be rejected if you are away for a while, and no guilt that you don t solve every problem every time. Homey don t DO FOG! Guest guest
Hi, Yes, I think that's the nature of this board and completely ok - that we're dealing with a lot of pain and it makes sense to take a break when it's too much. I have done that for sure; sometimes I just don't want to think about it anymore and come back when I'm feeling ready for it. I think it's good to be honest about that. I also think the other thing that's so fantastic about this board is that there isn't any guilt or obligation -- we of all people certainly don't need more of that. It's almost an unspoken policy - " come or go; you're always welcome to come or go, and accepted as you are. " Fiona > > Everyone, > > I haven't been on this board in a few months, I think.
